What the world should know about me

Studied applied physics at TU Darmstadt (Germany), and worked since 1984 as a scientist at Oeko-Institut where he headed the Energy & Climate Division in Darmstadt until 2010. After that, he focused on international activities and projects concerning sustainable biomass. In 2012, he co-founded IINAS and works there as Scientific Director. His expertise is material-flow and life-cycle analysis of energy, materials and transport systems (see GEMIS), and in developing sustainability scenarios with respective models and databases. He contributes to the Global Bioenergy Partnership.

Besides his scientific work, he is a Reiki master, practices QiGong and likes Nordic Skating, as well as riding trains.
